  • Green peas - 1 cup
  • Ginger(garlic paste - 2 tsp) -
  • Water - 3 cups
  • Aniseeds(Perinjeerakam) - 1 tsp
  • Cinnamom(Karugapatta) - 2 nos
  • Cloves(Grambu) - 5 nos
  • Bay leaves(Karuga ela) - 2 nos
  • Cardamoms(Elakka) - 4 nos
  • Onion(chopped) - 1 no
  • Green chillies - 2 nos
  • Vegetable oil or Ghee - 7 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves(As reqd) -

Instructions
  1. Soak rice in water for half an hour.
  2. Heat oil in a pan for about 2 minutes. Add aniseeds, bay leaves, cinnamon sticks, cardamoms & cloves and stir for a few seconds.
  3. Add onions, green chillies, ginger & garlic paste & peas. Stir and fry for about 2 minutes.
  4. Then, add rice and fry till the rice turns opaque(approximately 3 minutes).
  5. Add salt & water and stir it.
  6. Allow peas pulao to cook.
  7. Finally, garnish the peas pulao with coriander leaves.
  8. :- serve peas pulao hot.
