Pesara Purnalu is unique in quality and appeal with healthy green gram stuffing. ‘Sukhiyan’ snack almost coincides with Pesara Purnalu. The dish is generally prepared during auspicious days and festivals. Moong dal or green gram reduces heat in body and hence the snack is very preferable during summer season. Instructions
  1. For prearing Pesara Purnalu, first soak green gram dal in water.
  2. Grind green gram dal into a thick batter along with little salt and water.
  3. Make idlis using this batter.
  4. Once idlis are cooked, grate or crush them.
  5. Add grated coconut to it. Keep idli coconut mixture aside.
  6. Heat water and sugar and make the sugar syrup to a string consistency.
  7. Add the grated mixture of idli and coconut to this and make small sized balls. Keep aside.
  8. Soak black gram in water for some time and make a paste of black gram dal and rice flour.
  9. Dip the balls in the paste and fry Pesara Purnalu to a golden brown color.
