  • Pura / dove - 1/2 kg
  • Onion - 2 no
  • Tomato - 1 no
  • Mustard - 1/2 tsp
  • Aniseed - 2 no
  • Broken urad dal - 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves - 6 no
  • Ginger garlic paste - 4 tsp
  • Red chili powder - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 2 tsp
  • Salt to taste -
  • Black pepper - 2 tsp
  • Coconut paste - 1/2 cup
  • Coriander leaves(to garnish) -
  • Bay leaf - 2 no

Instructions
  1. For preparing Pigeon / Pura/ Pravu Gravy, first chop the onion and tomato.
  2. Heat oil and ghee in the pan.
  3. Temper the bay leaf, mustard, broken urad dal and aniseed.
  4. Add onion and curry leaves and saute it for 3 mins.
  5. Add tomato and mix it.
  6. Add ginger garlic paste and mix well until the raw smell comes out.
  7. Add red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt and mix it.
  8. Add pura /pigeon and mix it.
  9. Allow to cook for 5 mins in medium flame.
  10. Add required water for gravy and allow to cook.
  11. Now add coconut paste and mix well.
  12. Add pepper and mix it and allow to cook until the pura / pigeon gets cooked.
  13. Now pigeon / pravu / pura gravy is ready to serve. Garnish with coriander leaves.
