Prawn-Beans Thoran Kerala style prawns(chemmeen) & french beans thoran 300 gm Small prawns200 gm French beans (cut into 1 inch length pieces)1 no Onion (chopped fine, large)2 cm Ginger (chopped)2 nos Garlic pods (crushed)3 nos Green chillies (finely chopped)1/4 cup Grated coconut1 tsp Coriander powder1/4 tsp[optional] Cumin powder (Jeerakam)2 tbsp OilSalt (As reqd)1 tsp Mustard seedsCurry leaves (A few) Heat oil in pan.Add mustard seeds and when they splutter, add curry leaves.Add onion, ginger and garlic and saute, till it starts to change colour.Add the prawns and green chillies. Fry for sometime.Add beans and fry further.Add 2 tbsp of water and cover the pan and cook.Handmix grated coconut with coriander powder, cumin powder and a little water(to soften).Add this to the pan.Cover and cook for some more time. It`s a tasty dish but very poor listing of ingredients. Mustard seeds and curry leaves are not even mentioned in the list of ingredients.
Thanks for this recipe! But there`s one doubt. Should one not marinate the prawns before frying?
This recipe came out very well and it goes well with rice and curry.
I did not add water as some water comes out of the shrimp.
