Prawn - Sorrel Special
Spicy prawn soup with sorrel leaves
Ingredients
- 500 g Prawns cleaned and de-veined
- 250 ml Refined oil
- 2 cups Sorrel leaves
- 2 cups Onions finely chopped
- 100 g Tamarind Puli
- 6 nos Green chillies split
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp Poppy seeds
- 2 small Ginger piece
- 1 tsp Garlic paste
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- Salt As reqd
Instructions
- Clean the prawns and keep aside.
- Grind one cup of chopped onions, poppy seeds and ginger piece into a smooth paste. Extract pulp from tamarind.
- Add oil to a deep bottomed pan and heat. Splutter mustard seeds. Add remaining onions and fry well. Now add garlic paste, turmeric powder, sorrel leaves and green chillies.
