Punjabi Chicken Curry

Dhaba (Road-side Restaurants) is similar to our road side idli kadai. I have always been a big fan of Punjabi Dhaba style foods. Dhaba Style Chicken Curry is easy to prepare and requires all common ingredients which we use in daily basis.The most important ingredients are garam masala which the punjabis used to prepare. The punjabi garam masala is different from other garam masala. In this recipe i used punjabi garam masala to bring exactly the punjabi chicken curry taste.

Instructions
  1. soak the cashews in hot water for 5 mins
  2. make a fine paste in cashews
  3. clean and wash the medium size chicken, add half cashew paste and ginger garlic paste, mix well and marinate for 1/2 hour
  4. heat the ghee in a kadai and temper the cinnamon,clove, cumin seeds
  5. saute the onion for 5 minutes
  6. add remaining ginger garlic paste and mix it
  7. add remaining cashew paste and mix well
  8. add tomato and mix well
  9. add red chili powder, coriander powder,salt and sugar and mix well
  10. after 5 minutes add curd and mix it
  11. add marinated chicken and mix well
  12. add coconut paste and mix well
  13. add required water and allow to boil
  14. add coriander leaves and mint leaves and mix it
  15. add garam masala and allow to cook the chicken in medium flame until it becomes thick gravy consistency
  16. now punjabi chicken curry is ready to serve. serve with chapati
