  • Cumin seeds : 1 tsp -
  • Water : 3 cup -
  • Sugar : 2 tsp -
  • Cloves, coarsely crushed : 3 nos -
  • Cinnamon sticks, coarsely crushed : 3 nos -
  • Black peppercorns, coarsely crushed : 4 nos -
  • Cardamoms, coarsely crushed : 3 nos -
  • Oil – 2 - 3 tsp
  • Salt : as reqd -

Instructions
  1. Wash and soak the rice in water and keep aside for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a deep bottom pan and fry the whole garam masala.
  3. After it crackles add the sliced onion and fry till golden brown in color.
  4. Enter Step
  5. Add sugar and soaked rice and fry for 2 - 3 minutes.
  6. Enter Step
  7. Add salt and water and cover the pan and cook on a low flame for 20 minutes till the water has evaporated and rice is cooked.
  8. Enter Step
  9. Serve with dal and salad.
