Take a pressure cooker and saute cinnamon, cloves and crushed black pepper in hot oil/ghee for less than one minute
Then add chopped onions and saute till it turns transparent.
Once done, add chilly powder, garam masala and black pepper powder and mix thoroughly but only in a low flame.
Then add chopped tomato and saute thoroughly until tomatoes blends completely.
Now add basmati rice. At this stage you can add the remaining ghee and saute for approximately 5 minutes.
Once done add 3 cups of water(ratio is like double the quantity of basmati rice) plus required quantity of salt.
Now close the lid and increase the flame to high.
When the first whistle comes, lower the flame and wait for the second.
After the second whistle, remove the cooker from the flame.
Once the pressure is released, you can transfer the rice to a serving dish and it can be garnished with coriander leaves, capsicum and lemon slices if u wish.
Note:
1)You can vary the quantity of ghee and masalas depending on your taste.
Make sure to follow the quantity of water as mentioned.
