  • Rajma(Red kidney beans) - 3/4 cup
  • Onion(Approx. 1½ cup finally chopped, medium) - 2 nos
  • Garlic pods - 3 nos
  • Tomato(Approx. 1½ cup finally chopped, medium) - 2 nos
  • Paalak – 5(optional) - 10 leaves
  • Dal(optional) - 1 tbsp
  • Chilli powder - ½ tsp
  • Lemon juice(natural) - ½ tsp
  • Oil - 1 tsp
  • Salt(As reqd) -

Instructions
  1. Wash the beans and soak in water overnight.
  2. Next day, drain thoroughly.
  3. Heat the oil in a pressure cooker.
  4. Add the onions and garlic and fry for 1 or 2 minute.
  5. Add the chilli powder and salt and mix well to heat the chilli powder(low flame).
  6. Add the tomatoes and fry for 1 - 2 mins, till it is done well.
  7. Add the beans and 6 cups of water and cook in a pressure cooker till done well.
  8. Add the cleaned paalak leaves to it.
  9. Add the dal also (both if used).
  10. Cool to room temperature.
  11. Blend in a blender to a smooth puree.
  12. :- Do not strain.
  13. Add lemon juice. Mix well.
  14. Garnish with very finally chopped coriander leaves.
  15. :- Serve hot.
  16. :- Excellent for diet conscious and diabetic.
  17. :- There can be different variations to this v by adding pasta or mixture of finally chopped vegetables. For non vegetarians, cooked chicken pieces can be added. This will change the calorie value.
