  • Raisins(Onakka munthiri) - 1/4 cup
  • Sugar - 1 cup
  • Cardamom seeds(Elakka) - 1 tsp
  • Almonds(shredded, blanched, Badam) - 1/4 cup
  • Saffron(A few strands) -

Instructions
  1. Wash and drain the rice. Soak in water for 1/2 an hour.
  2. Boil milk and add drained rice.
  3. Simmer on low heat for 1 1/2 hours. Scrape the sides and bottom frequently to prevent sticking.
  4. When the rice is cooked and the mixture gets a creamy consistency, add sugar and raisins. Stir well.
  5. Remove from heat and add crushed cardamom seeds, Saffron and shredded almonds.
  6. :- Serve hot or refrigerated cold.
