Scotch Eggs

A deadly snack with sausages and boiled eggs

  • Boil the eggs in a pan for 7 minutes.
  • Remove the eggs from the pan and put in water.
  • Once cool, remove the shell of the eggs.
  • Cut the sausage into pieces and mince it in a grinder.
  • Add chopped spring onion, pepper powder, salt, chaat masala, ½ tsp chilly powder, 2 tsp of maida to it and mix well.
  • Divide the sausage meat into 3 equal portions. Form each portion into a flat cake with a little maida, round enough to fit around the egg.
  • Work the sausage meat around the egg as evenly whilst working hard to keep the egg's shape intact. Make sure there are no cracks. Keep for 5 minutes.
  • Dip theegg balls into the beaten egg and then into the bread crumbs. Press lightly to ensure a good fix.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Place the egg balls in the hot oil and deep fry in medium heat.
  • Cook till the sausage gets cooked well and till it turns in golden colour.
  • Remove from the oil and keep it in a bowl.
