  • Semolina(roasted, Rava) - 150 g
  • Milk - 2 litres
  • Sugar - 175 g
  • Onion(thinly chopped) - 1 no
  • Ghee - 2 tbsp
  • Cashew nuts(broken) - 30 g
  • Raisins(Onakka munthiri) - 30 g
  • Cardamon powder - 1 tsp

Instructions
  1. Take a deep bottomed pan and boil milk.
  2. Add sugar and stir.
  3. Add roasted semolina and stir gently without forming lumps.
  4. Cook in low flame. When the milk thickens, add cardamom powder. Remove from fire.
  5. Take a pan and pour ghee. Heat the pan and fry chopped onions, nuts and raisins.
  6. Pour this over the semolina payasam and serve hot.
