Shahi Mutton Kuruma

Ingredients
  

  • 300 g Mutton
  • 1/2 cup Onion thinly sliced
  • 1/4 tbsp Garlic ground
  • 1/4 tbsp Ginger ground
  • 1/2 tbsp Chilly powder
  • 1 tbsp Coriander powder
  • 1/4 cup Curd beaten
  • 1/4 cup Cream fresh
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • Cinnamon a small piece, Karugapatta
  • 2 nos Clove Grambu
  • Mace Little, Jathipatri
  • 3 nos Cardamom Elakka
  • 2 tsp Cashew nuts for garnishing
  • 2 tbsp Cashew nuts ground
  • Ghee/oil As reqd
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • Clean the mutton and cut into one inch square pieces. Wash well and drain.
  • For preparing shahi mutton kuruma, first take a wide bottomed pan and pour ghee/oil. Fry cinnamon, cloves, mace and add onions.
  • When onion becomes soft, add ginger, garlic and saute till a fried smell comes.
  • Add drained mutton pieces and saute for 5 minutes in medium heat.
  • Lower the heat and add chilly powder, coriander powder and saute for 3 more minutes.
  • Add beaten curd, required salt and enough water for the mutton pieces to cook.
  • Allow the curry to boil and then lower the flame. Cover with a lid and cook till mutton is done.
  • Add cashew nut paste, garam masala and simmer for 5 more minutes.
  • Remove shahi mutton kuruma from fire. Before serving, heat the curry and add fresh cream. For garnishing, heat some ghee and fry cashew nuts and pour over the curry.
  • Yummy shahi mutton kuruma, a rich and tasty dish, is ready.
