Instructions
 

  • Heat about 4 cups of water in a wok/kadai.
  • Add the chilly powder, coriander powder, pepper powder, ginger garlic paste and turmeric powder.
  • Let this sauce boil until it is reduced to half the quantity.
  • (Note : soak the kokum in warm for about 15 mins and make a paste. If you do not have kokum you can substitute it with Tamarind(Puli) pulp taken out of 1 big lemon sized ball of tamarind) Add the kokum/tamarind pulp to the sauce and let it boil until the kokum paste is well cooked and the raw smell disappears.
  • Add the prawns and salt to taste.
  • When the prawns curl up and is done, add the coconut milk and simmer for about 5 mins and then switch off the stove.
  • :- Serve with plain rice and papad.
  • :- This is a healthy dish since there is no oil used.

    Came out excellent. I guess nandita doesnt know to follow instructions or does not like trying different cuisines. This is an authentic goan recipe and is a must try for everyone.
