  • Rice flour(Ari podi) - 2 tea
  • Jaggery(Sharkkara) - 1, medium
  • Sesame seeds(Ellu) - 2 tbsp
  • Grated Coconut - 1 cup
  • Coconut pieces(Thenga Khotthu cut in small pieces) - 4 tbsp
  • Plantain(Palayamgoden Pazzham) - 3 -
  • Salt - 2 pinch
  • Cardamom(powdered form, Elakka) - 4 nos
  • Cumin seeds(optional, Jeerakam) - 1 pinch

Instructions
  1. Mix all the ingredients together with enough water make it to a sticky but not very loose batter or paste. Best mixing can be done in a mixer. one minute grinding will do.
  2. Take a big full round spoon and pour into the heated oil in the unni appam tray.
  3. Fry both sides, till it becomes golden brown.
  4. - Serve hot and enjoy.
