Garam masala
powder

Coriander powder

Coriander leaves

Curry leaves

Cumin powder
Jeerakam

Butter

Oil

As reqd

As reqd
Instructions
For preparing
snake gourd
/padavalanga with
potato
, saute the vegetables:
snake gourd
,
onion
and
potato
in hot
oil
for 5 minutes and add required
salt
.
Make a fine paste of green chilly,
garlic
and
cumin powder
.
Fry red chilly in hot
oil
and add the ground paste,
turmeric powder
,
coriander powder
,
curry leaves
and 1 tbsp of
water
. Fry for a minute.
Add the
tomato
and cooked vegetables. Mix well and add
salt
,
sugar
and
garam masala
.
Pour 1/2 cup of
water
and cook covered for 5 minutes.
Transfer into a serving dish and pour the melted butter over it. Garnish with coriander leaves.
Snake gourd
/padavalanga with
potato
, a balanced as well as fibrous vegetable, is ready.
