  • Pachari/Idli ari - 2 cups
  • Black gram(Uzhunnu) - 2 tbsp
  • Cooked rice - 1/2 cup
  • Yeast - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt(As reqd) -

Instructions
  1. Soak pachari/idli rice & black gram for about 8 hrs.
  2. Grind well the soaked rice & black gram along with the cooked rice.
  3. Add yeast and mix well.
  4. Leave this till the mixture rises.
  5. Add salt and mix well.
  6. Heat a tawa and make soft appams.
  7. :- Serve hot with chicken or egg curry.

the appams came out looking like dosas.why do u add urad dal to it?
