Soft Wheat Puttu is one of the healthiest of breakfast dishes in Kerala Cuisine.Wheat Puttu is one of the simplest of breakfast dishes with wheat flour sprinkled with water and required salt to form a coarse mixture. You can blend the wheat mixture in a blender for best results of soft Puttu. The softened wheat mixture is later steamed in a Puttu maker with required grated coconut. Gothambu Puttu is a hundred percent vegetarian dish with not a drop of oil. For preparing the traditional dish, first take a bowl and add salt and Atta. Mix well and add water little by little and make a crumble. Then see the consistency of the flour and if its wet you can add more dry flour and whip.
Add the wheat flour mix ito a mixer gringer and pulse it for 2-3 seconds.
Fill the puttu mould by adding grated coconut and wheat flour one after the other. Steam for 10 minutes or till done.
Tasty and healthy puttu dish is ready. Serve with ripe bananas or any curry dish of your choice. This is a healthy and wholesome dish that will take you through out the day in good spirits and mood.
