paste

sliced, Kunjulli

nos
Green chillies
slit

Gambooge
medium size, Kudampuli

cups
Coconut
grated
2
springs
Curry leaves
1/2
tsp
Mustard seeds
1/4
tsp
Fenugreek seeds
Uluva
1
tbsp
Chilly powder
1/2
tsp
Turmeric powder
2
tbsp
Coconut oil
Salt
As reqd
Instructions
For preparing special kerala fish curry, grind the grated
coconut
, chilly powder,
turmeric powder
& 1 shallot to a paste by adding
water
. Keep it aside.
Clean and soak the gambooge in
salt
water
for 5 minutes.
Heat
coconut oil
in a heavy pan or meen chatty.
Splutter the
mustard seeds
.
Add
fenugreek seeds
, remaining shallots,
green chillies
and
ginger
paste. Saute well.
Then add the ground
coconut
paste, soaked gambooge and
salt
. Saute well for 3 minutes.
Pour a little
water
if the gravy is too thick. Allow it to boil for 5 minutes.
Toss in the fish pieces and
curry leaves
. Close the lid and allow the fish to cook on low flame till done.
Drizzle a little
coconut oil
.
Special kerala fish curry is ready. Serve hot with Kerala rice.
