Instructions
  1. First soak the dal in water for ½ an hour. 2) Peel the skin of potato and roughly chop it and cook it with dal in pressure cooker.(recommend up to 4 whistle).
  2. When done, mash the potato and dal with ladle. 4) Keep this aside.5) In a pan, heat oil. Splutter mustard seeds. Add cumin seeds followed by onion and garlic.
  3. Fry for a while. Add the ginger garlic paste, green chillies and curry leaves. Add capsicum and fry again.7) Add half of the chopped tomatoes. When tomatoes become soft, add dal and cook again.
  4. Add garam masala and cumin powder.9) Add little water,salt, rest of tomatoes and a tsp of ghee/butter on top. Cover and cook for 3 minutes.10) When it becomes thick, remove from flame.
  5. Special potato dal curry is ready.
