Dry roast 2 green cardamoms,1 black cardamom, 3 cloves, + tsp cumin, + tsp coriander seeds, 8 whole black pepper corns, 2-3 whole red chilies, 1 bay leaf. Cool and grind to a fine powder.
For the Hara Masala:
Grind a large hand-full of coriander with 3-4 green chilies, 1 tsp garlic, ginger paste, and salt to a fine paste.
Heat the oil and fry the onions till light brown in color.
Add the hara masala paste, garam masala powder, and haldi powder to it. Add a little water.
Cook on a low flame till the oil begins to separate from the masala,
Add the marinated chicken. Saute everything together, add + cup water and salt to taste. Cook covered on a low flame, around 5 - 7 minutes or till the chicken is tender.
