Spinach Koottu Easy method--Can be mixed with white rice or rotis 1/2 cup Green gram (Cheruparippu/Moong dal)0.75 Oz Baby spinach (340 gm, or normal spinach)3 tsp Cumin seeds (Jeerakam)6 tsp Grated coconut1 tsp Pepper4 nos Green chillies (or less if u want it less spicy)1 tsp SaltAsafoetida (A pinch, Kayam)For seasoning:-2 nos Dry red chillies (Kollamulaku)1 tsp Mustard seeds1 tsp Cooking oil Boil moong dal and spinach in the cooker and allow 2 whistles. :- It can be put in the same vessel.Grind the green chillies, pepper, grated coconut and cumin seeds. Pour 2 tsp of cooking oil in a wide mouthed vessel (kadai).Splutter mustard seeds and saute dry red chillies. Add the cooked dal-spinach mixture and put salt and the above paste. Let it cook for 5 mins, stirring in regular intervals. Add asafoetida. Enjoy !!!! Tamil
