Spinach Milagu Kootal
A delicious, very quick, healthy blend of
Spinach
and Dal

Ingredients

Paalak

cup
Red gram
Thuvaraparippu
3
cups
Water
Turmeric powder
A pinch
Salt
As reqd
To dry roast:-
1
tsp
Black gram
Uzhunnuparippu
1
tsp
Cumin seeds
Jeerakam
1

Dry
red chillies
Kollamulaku
1
tsp
Black peppercorns
ground
1 1/2
tbsp
Grated
coconut
dry roast separately
Instructions
Wash thoroughly
spinach
and chop roughly.
In a pressure pan, add 3 cups of
water
, little
turmeric
,
salt
, chopped
spinach
and dal and cook for 3 whistles.
Grind the dry roasted ingredients in a mixer to a smooth paste with a little
water
.
Add ground paste to
spinach
and dal mixture, boil until slightly thick.
:- Serve hot with rice.
:- You need not season with anything. :- Grinding the pepper fresh gives a distinct taste than the pepper power.
