1/3 cup Sugar (granulated)1 tbsp Flour1/4 tsp Salt3 nos Egg (separated)2 cup Milk1 1/2 tsp Vanilla1 package Vanilla wafer cookies1 tbsp Sugar (granulated)2 cups Strawberries (fresh or frozen, sliced)Baking dish (as reqd) In top of double boiler combine 1/3 cup sugar, flour, salt, egg yolks, milk, and 1 teaspoon vanilla.Cook and stir constantly, until custard thickens. Line bottom and sides of a baking dish (1 1/2-quart size) with vanilla wafers, alternate layers of custard mix, wafers, and berries. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.Add the 1 tablespoon sugar and remaining 1/2 teaspoon vanilla.
