  • Long grain rice(washed and soaked in water for 30 minutes) - 250 g
  • Milk - 1/2 litre
  • Sugar - 200 g
  • Cloves(Grambu) - 3 nos
  • Cinnamon(Karugapatta) - 1/2 inch
  • Cardamom(Elakka) - 3 nos
  • Almonds - 1 tbsp
  • Raisins(Unakka munthiri) - 1 tbsp
  • Silver paper - 2 sheets
  • Ghee - 6 tsp

Instructions
  1. For preparing sweet rice, drain the rice thoroughly and roast in a pan until it turns light brown in colour.
  2. Mix the rice and milk in a vessel and cook covered over low heat till the milk dries up.
  3. Add sugar and remove from flame.
  4. Heat ghee in a pan. Fry cloves, cinnamon and cardamom for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Add the cooked rice and fry over low flame till the ghee separates.
  6. Garnish with almonds, raisins and silver paper.
  7. Sweet rice is ready.
