Tamil Nadu Easy Lemon Rice
Tamil Nadu style lemon rice
Ingredients
- 250 gm Rice
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 10 gm Mustard seeds
- 8-10 nos Curry leaves
- 20 gm Bengal gram Kadalaparippu
- 20 gm Black gram Uzhunnuparippu
- 2-3 nos Red dry chillies Kollamulaku
- 1" piece Ginger finely chopped
- 2 nos Green chillies finely chopped
- 1 no Onion finely minced, large
- Turmeric Powder A pinch
- 10 gm Peanuts Nelakadala
- 1 no Lemon Juice
- Salt As reqd
Instructions
- Boil the rice till it is tender, strain water and keep aside.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- When these turn a little brown in colour, add green chillies, chopped ginger, minced onions, peanuts and turmeric powder.
- Stir well and keep on flame for two minutes.
- Add pre-boiled rice, lemon juice and salt.
- Keep on flame for about 3-4 minutes.

Good one!A slight variation will b adding roasted cashews & garnishing with coriander leaves before serving.
