Instructions
  1. Pressure cook dhal, separate dhal and dhal water. Keep it aside.
  2. Heat ghee in a pan.
  3. Splutter mustard seeds.
  4. Add garlic and fry on medium flame for 1 minute.
  5. Add tomatoes and allow it to cook.
  6. Add tamarind juice, cooked dhal, turmeric, pepper and cumin powder, asafotedia, salt, cilantro and curry leaves.
  7. Allow the rasam to boil for 3 mins.
  8. Finally, add dhal water and when the rasam starts to boil again, switch off the fire.
