Tamil Nadu Style Mulligatawny Soup Mulligatawny Soup - Tamil Nadu Style Mulligatawny Soup 1 tsp Ginger root (crushed)1 tsp Garlic (crushed)1 no Onion (large and sliced)2 tbsp Gram flour (Kadala podi)1 no Green apple (peeled and diced)1 heaped Curry powder1/4 tsp Turmeric powder2 nos Tomatoes (peeled and chopped, medium)1 no Bay leaf (Vazhana/karuga ela)1 tsp Black pepper (coarsely ground)3 cups Veg stock1 - Boiled rice (optional)1-2 tbsp OilLemon Wedges for garnishing Heat oil in a pan.Add the ginger and garlic and saute for 2 minutes.Add onion and saute until the onion is transparent. Add the gram flour, apple, curry powder, turmeric, tomatoes, bay leaf, pepper and veg stock.Bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat. Simmer for 45 minutes.Process in a blender or pass through a sieve. Add the rice (if using). Stir well.:- Serve with lemon wedges. Tamil
