Tamil Nadu Tomato Curry

Simple & easy tomato curry

Ingredients
  

  • 4 nos Tomato medium size
  • 3 nos Onions medium size
  • 3/4 tsp Aniseed Perinjeerakam
  • 1/2 tsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 2 nos Green Chillies
  • 3/4 tsp Chilly Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Dhania powder
  • 1/2 tsp Tumeric powder
  • 1/2 cup Coconut
  • 1 inch Cinnamon
  • 2 nos Cloves
  • 2 tbsp Roasted Gram odacha kadala or pottu kadala
  • 3/4 cup Water
  • Corriander leaves for garnishing
  • Oil as reqd
  • Salt as reqd

Instructions
 

  • Take a pan, pour oil & add Aniseed (Perinjeerakam), Cinnamon & Cloves.
  • Chop onions in such a way that you get square pieces.Add onion & saute till the colour changes.
  • Add the ginger garlic paste & fry for less than a minute and then add tomato.
  • Once the tomato is cooked well, add Green chilles, Dhania pwder, Chilli pwdr & turmeric powder. Keep stirring for a while till the masala is cooked.
  • Grind the coconut & roasted gram into a smooth paste.
  • Add the ground mixture wth the cooked masala.
  • Also add water & salt accordingly.
  • Close the pan with a lid & cook it wel for about 5-7mins in low flame.
  • Finally once cooked garnish wth corriander leaves.
  • :- Best suited for idlis & dosas.
