Instructions
  1. In a kadai, heat the oil and add mustard seeds, urad dal and redchillies one by one.
  2. After they crackle, add garlic pods, curry leaves. When the raw smell of garlic goes add chopped onions and fry.
  3. Now add chopped tomatoes and fry it for a minute. Then add turmeric powder and chilli powder and fry till the raw smell of chilli powder goes out and tomato gets smashed.
  4. add necessary water and allow it to cook in a high flame for ten minutes.
  5. after 10 minutes it will come to the gravy consistency. Now add salt and asafoetida powder and cook for another 5 minutes in a medium flame. Add corriander leaves for garnishing and serve it with idly and dosa.
Recipe Notes

The chilli powder can be used according to the individual wishes. If you need more spicy, then you can have 3 teaspoon.
