Traditional Padavalanga Thoran It ia tasty side dish for rice and chapathi.It is tasty and is good for health.It is very easy to prepare.It is use to prepare in almost all houses of kerala.It is very tasty recipe . 1 tsp Rice1 tsp Mustard2 Snake gourd1/2 cup Coconut grated1 tsp Cumin seeds1 Onion4 Green chilly1 tsp Coconut oil1/2 cup WaterSalt (to taste) Heat oil in a kadai add mustard seeds,when it splutters add rice and saute for 2 minutes.Add curry leaves and saute for a minute.Then add washed and chopped snake gourd into this and saute for a minute.Grind coconut,cumin seeds,green chilly,chili powder and onion in a mixer.Add this ground mix to snake gourd and saute for a minute.Add 1/2 cup water and salt to this and mix well.Close the kadai with lid and cook for 5 minutes.When it is cooked and water dries up we can switch off stove.Now traditional padavalanga thoran is ready.
