Tur Dal Parippu Curry
A twist to the traditional parippu curry tasty and time saving, made with tur dal or sambar parippu.

Ingredients

cup
Red gram
Thuvaraparippu
2
tbsp
Pearl onions
minced, Kunjulli
2
sprigs
Curry leaves
3
-
Garlic
pods
1/2
tsp
Turmeric powder
2
nos
Green chillies
slit
2
tbsp
Dry
coconut
powder
Salt
As reqd
1
tbsp
Ghee
1/2
tsp
Cumin powder
Jeerakam
Instructions
Cook the dal with enough
water
,
salt
,
turmeric
,
garlic
and
green chillies
in the pressure cooker until dal is soft and mushy.
Heat 1/2 the
ghee
in a pan.
Fry the minced pearl onions until soft.
Add the
curry leaves
and saute.
Add the cooked dal and bring to a rapid boil.
Add the
coconut
powder and
cumin powder
.
Add
water
to your like and adjust the seasonings.
When it boils well, remove from fire.
:- Serve with rice and papad and top with remaining
ghee
.
