  • Soak the fish for about 30 – 45 minutes in normal water.

  • After about 45 minutes clean the fishes properly (also remove skin of the fishes) and keep them aside (if necessary they can be cut into pieces)
  • Grind cleaned Shallots, Red Chilli powder, Turmeric powder and Pepper along with 2 – 3 Tsp water and make a paste. Apply this paste on both sides of the fishes and keep them for some time (add salt only if required).

  • Heat oil (preferably Coconut Oil) in a Cheenachatti/Frying pan and put the masala coated fishes into the hot oil and fry both sides.

  • When the fishes are fried properly, transfer them into a serving plate. Maanthal (Dried Sole Fish) fry is ready.
