I am going to buy the vessel tomorrow and make appams for Vishu. Banana definitely gives the appams a softness but reduces the shelf life as well! Reply fishy June 19, 2009 - 2:32 pm I tried the same way as said in the recipe. I had to add more water for the batter to be in the correct consistency. Otherwise everything was good. Reply rohini March 2, 2005 - 12:00 amHello I would like to know if it is possible to make unni appams without adding banana to it.Thanx Reply Junie July 18, 2005 - 12:00 amI am in the process of making it.One thing I found was that one cup of water was insufficient to make the batter.I had to add milk in order to make the batter of the required consistency.Or was there something wrong that I did.Well hopefully it turns out GREAT!!!
