Usili is a Traditional South Indian (tamil) curry/side dish prepared with lentils and vegetables. Usually paruppu usili is made toor dal and in addition we add valaipoo and good taste too

Instructions
  1. Clean valaipoo . i already posted cleaning method in valaipoo aadai. or remove that stem inside as seen in the pic and chop
  2. Soak toor dal for 1/2 an hour , in a jar add red chili and fennel seeds and coarsely grind and add dal , salt and grind coarsely and keep aside.
  3. In idly plate apply oil and spread toor dal mixture and steam for 10 mins
  4. In mean time cook valaipoo with salt and turmeric
  5. In a pan add oil and temper mustard, asafoetida and curry leaves
  6. Now add toorl dal mixture and valaipoo and combine together cook for 5 mins
