Vayakkathil Appam is a traditional evening snack recipe usually prepared with mysore pazham but now it is jackfruit season and I substitite it with jackfruit.Fresh jackfruit adds an extra sweetness to the Appam.They are mainly made with rice,jaggery

  • Jackfruit puree - 1 cup
  • Jaggery - 1 1/2 cup
  • Maida - 1/2 cup
  • Salt(pinch) -

Instructions
  1. Powder the rice using a blender,it should powder too fine.
  2. Remove the jackfruit seeds and grind it to a fine paste.
  3. Dissolve the jaggery in half cup of water
  4. In a bowl,add rice powder,maida,jackfruit puree,melted jaggery,salt and water.Mix it well,it should not be too runny.
  5. Heat a pan,pour some batter and fry it until golden brown in colour.
  6. Vayakkathil appam is ready to serve.
