Instructions
  1. For preparing Vazhakka Thoran, peel and cut the banana into cubes and wash them well.
  2. Grind together green chillies, turmeric, coconut, garlic and onion. Keep this aside.
  3. Add 1 cup of water to bananas and cook till nearly dry.
  4. Add salt.
  5. Add ground ingredients to cooked bananas. Allow steam to pass through.
  6. Mix well and check the seasonings.
  7. Heat oil and crackle sesame seeds, add curry leaves and fry them for a second.
  8. Transfer the cooked bananas to a serving dish and temper with the sesame seeds and curry leaves.
  9. Vazhakka Thoran is ready.

There is no need to cook plantain in water .u can put all the ingredients together with plantain and sprinkle some water on top and keep the lid over the vessel and cook.
