Turmeric powder

tbsp
Coconut oil
1
tbsp
Mustard seeds
1
tbsp
Channa dal
Kadala prippu
Curry leaves
A few
Salt
As reqd
Instructions
For preparing Vazhapindi Thoran, cut the
banana
stem into roundels and simultaneously, loop its serum onto your fingers to discard it.
Chop the
banana
stem into fine pieces.
Cook the
banana
stem along with
turmeric powder
and
salt
in a covered dish.
Keep aside.
Now take a kadai and pour 2 tbsp of
oil
. Allow it to heat. Add channa dal and
mustard seeds
.
When mustard seeds splutter add two red chilies and
curry leaves
.
Now add the cooked
banana
stem to it and mix well. Keep it aside. Let it cool for a while.
Dry roast the rice and the balance dry red chilies.
Dry grind it in a mixer.
Now spread this dry roast powder on to the
banana
stem and one tbsp of
oil
over it. Mix it well.
Vazhapindi thoran is ready. Serve as a side dish.
Note:- You can use any boiled rice to roast.
