Ingredients
  • Carrots(cut into small cubes, medium) - 2 nos
  • Potato(cut into small cubes, medium) - 1 no
  • Cauliflower(florets separated, medium) - 1/4 of
  • Green peas - 1/4 cup
  • You can more vegetables if you like -
  • Onion(chopped, big) - 1 no
  • Green chillies - 3 -
  • Tomato(small) - 1 no
  • Masala mix: -
  • Cardamom, Clove, Cinnamon, Aniseed, Poppy seeds etc(for grinding - 2 1/2 spoons of the mixture) -
  • Ginger(garlic paste) -
  • Coconut - 1/2 cup
  • Fried channa(Pottu kadala) - 1/4 cup
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Salt(As reqd) -
  • Coriander leaves (for garnishing) -

Instructions
  1. Finely grind the tomato, coconut, masala mix and fried channa (soak the pottu kadala for 10 minues before grinding).
  2. In a thick bottomed pan, fry the onions and green chillies.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste, chilli powder and turmeric powder and saute it.
  4. Add the washed vegetables and slightly fry them too.
  5. When they are half done, add the ground paste and 2 1/2 cups of water, salt to taste and close and cook on low flame.
  6. When everything is cooked well, mash a few of the potato pieces into the gravy to thicken it, check salt and add more and mix if needed.
  7. Transfer it to a serving bowl and sprinkle coriander leaves on it.
  8. :- Serve hot with chapathi or porotta.
