  • Basmati rice - 1 cup
  • Mixed vegetables(Carrot, Beans, Green peas) - 1 cup
  • Cinnamon(Karugapatta) - 1 stick
  • Cloves(Grambu) - 5 nos
  • Bay leaves(Karuga/Vazhana ela) - 2 nos
  • Cardamom(Elakka) - 3 nos
  • Black pepper - 10 nos
  • Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt(As reqd) -
  • Ghee - 4 tbsp
  • Water - 2 cups

Instructions
  1. Heat ghee in a pan.
  2. Add the spices and simmer the flame.
  3. When aroma comes, add the vegetables and rice and fry for 2 - 3 mins.
  4. Add salt and garam masala powder.
  5. Add water and allow it to boil on a high flame.
  6. Simmer the flame again.
  7. Cover the vessel with a lid and cook for about 15 - 20 mins.

instead of adding water, i tried with the cooker, it came out good.
