Simple Home made Vendakkai Morkuzhambu

Ingredients
  

  • Ladies finger (Vendakkai) : 5 nos
  • 5 nos Green chilli : 4 cleaned and cut into pieces
  • Curry leaves : 1 stem
  • Ginger : 1 piece (cleaned and cut into pieces)
  • Refined / coconut oil : as reqd
  • Turmeric powder : 1 tsp
  • Salt : as reqd
  • Cumin seeds : 1 tsp
  • Mustard : 1 tsp
  • 3 nos Red chilli : 2 only if necessary – cut it into pieces to fry
  • Gram flour ( kadalamavu) :1 cup
  • Curd : 1 cup
  • Garlic : 2 pieces
  • Cleaned and cut Big onion : 1 no

Instructions
 

  • Roast the ladies finger and keep it aside.
  • Make a paste of gram flour with water and keep it aside.
  • Heat oil and put cumin seeds in it.
  • Add cut onion, ginger and garlic and if necessary red chilli also.
  • When the colour of the mix of cumin seeds, ginger, onion and green chilli into golden, add the gram flour paste along with required water and salt and stir it well.
  • Put some turmeric powder and red chilli powder if necessary.
  • Add the butter milk and allow to boil this mix for about 5 – 10 minutes.
  • Allow the mix to boil for about 10 minutes and then put off the stove .
  • Then add the fried ladies finger.
  • Stir the mix well and allow to boil it further for about 10 minutes.
  • The Vendakkai Mor kuzhambu is ready and it can serve with rice, dosa, uthappam etc. subject to the taste of user.
